The Sugar Mill Veterinary Hospital is named for the still-standing Princesse Sugar Mill which is believed to have been built and placed into service in 1747.

In addition to the Schimmelman’s, who owned the property for over one hundred years, prior owners have included the Hendricks’ family and Carleton Varney, one of America’s best known interior designers.
